Memories - Just Like Trix - Are For Kids

What a child can do in cooperation today, he can do alone tomorrow.

Who Are You - Really?

A lot of what we do here in the blog and on our social platforms is to illustrate how adults can use our unique 3D living spaces to showcase their interests, experiences and accomplishments.

Your home - and the furniture, photos, art and other décor that you use to decorate it - provides a pretty accurate a picture of what you are really about.

And we think our game is the best spot for you to do the same thing online.

That's what we mean when we invite you to Be The Real You™ with Egowall.

But What About The Kids?

We also want to give that opportunity to your children, who have their own interests and accomplishments to share.

To that end, we have approximately seventy (70) furniture and decor items specifically designed for use in kids' rooms.

Items in our Kids Collection are split among the following themes:

  • Jungle (33)

  • Military (3)

  • Pirate (6)

  • Princess (18)

  • Sports (9)

If you look at the images at right for examples of the craftsmanship of our kids furniture items.

Show Me More

Each weekday for the next two weeks we are showcasing images from our Kids Collection on our Instagram feed.

This week, we focus on sports-themed furniture objects and next week we will follow up with a look at five beautiful items you can in our Princess collection.

So if you don't already subscribe to us on Instagram, please do so to make sure you don't miss these posts.

We encourage you to create spaces for your children and work with them to decorate their rooms with the things that will show their friends who THEY really are.

Sign up for a free account (note that all account holders must be age 13 or over) today and start documenting your - and your child's - memories with Egowall.

Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.

Big Tex And The Steer Made From Butter

State Fair of Texas Opening Night 2016 Photos

State Fair of Texas Opening Night 2016 Photos

UPDATE: We made our first visit this year to the State Fair of Texas on what had to be the most perfect weather day possible.

Nearly 20 new pictures taken on opening night- including many long-exposure shots - have been added to Gallery 2 and Gallery 5.

Please stop by and check them out, as well as the pictures already on display in the Main Gallery.

We're expecting to go back to the Fair at least one more time, so expect more photos to be added to the galleries over the next couple of weeks.

UPDATE 2: As promised, we made two more trips to the State Fair of Texas during its 2016 run, and have added photos from those visits to Gallery 3 and Gallery 4.

Please stop by and check them out, as well as the pictures already on display in the Main Gallery, Gallery 2, and Gallery 5.

And if you want to learn more about the aforementioned "steer made from butter," we have a separate post about that.

24 Days. 75 Concerts. The Budweiser Clydesdales. A butter sculpture of a steer.

And the generator of a million memories.

That's the great State Fair of Texas - 130 years young - which has just begun its 2016 run in Dallas' historic Fair Park.

Not to brag (well, yes, I guess we are), but the State Fair of Texas is the largest and longest - at 24 days - state fair in the US. It's consistently ranked among the best state fairs nationwide.

The mission of the State Fair is to "celebrate all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment."

Practically speaking, that means hundreds of shows, concerts, attractions, exhibits, and the largest new car automobile show in the Southwest.

The Man, The Myth, The Cowboy

And have we mentioned the food?

The One And Only

Another thing that makes our State Fair stand out in comparison to others is Big Tex, the Fair's 55-foot tall cowboy mascot, who has quite a colorful history.

Big Tex began his life as Santa Claus before being converted into a somewhat scary cowboy.

His countenance was updated over the years and he became a beloved part of the State Fair of Texas.

He was destroyed in an electrical fire during the 2012 Fair and was rebuilt like The Six Million Dollar Man ("we have the technology") in time for the next year's celebration.

Big Tex - with his 95-gallon hat and size 96 boots (see above) - is one of a kind. And we love him.

Sharing State Fair Memories With Egowall

If Egowall is designed to allow you to showcase your memories and share your interests with friends and family, then it's only natural for us to use it to celebrate the State Fair of Texas.

We make a pilgrimage to Fair Park each fall (often more than once) to soak it all in and take photos - many, many photos -  to document our love for the Fair.

We have an archive over more than a thousand pictures taken over the last decade.

This year, we have created a public Egowall living space to put some of our favorite State Fair photos on display.

The State Fair of Texas Gallery - a customized Urban Gallery space - has five galleries. The largest of these is the Main Gallery, which is also the default entry point to the space.

The screen capture below shows the interior of the Main Gallery.

All of the photos displayed there were taken between 2013 and 2015.

After you enter, you can move freely around the space to get a closer look at these photos and the additional State Fair of Texas photos yet to come.

Over the course of this year's State Fair we will be adding more photos - from this year and years prior to 2013 - to the space's other galleries.

We hope you will come back and check them out as well.

Create Your Own Place For Memories

If you are not already an Egowall member, while you are visiting our State Fair of Texas Gallery, you will be invited to register for a free account.

Once you do that, you will not only be able to create your own Egowall living space(s), but when you visit the State Fair of Texas Gallery or any other space, you will be able to read descriptions of posted photos as well as leave ratings and comments on them.

And as for the State Fair of Texas itself, you should definitely come see it. You know what they say about things being bigger in Texas.

The Fair runs this year through October 23.

The Social Network For The Real You

Check out our Unity-based social networking platform to see what you can do with Egowall. Then sign up for a free account and start using it to be The Real You™.

You're probably a member of at least one social networking site (65% of Americans are).

Egowall is unlike any other social networking site you currently use. And that's just one of the reasons why you sign up for a free account today.

The Concept

The primary ideas behind Egowall are these:

  • There is much more to who you are than the musings you post, the pictures you upload, and the comments that you make about current events
  • There should be a place where your friends, family and colleagues can come at any time to learn about the things that make up the real you
  • You should have total control over who is able to see what you share within that place

Issues With Other Social Networks

So much information flows through the rivers of news on Facebook and Twitter that if your friends and followers aren't looking at the right time they will miss what you have to say.

And if they are, they will see posts which focus on the moment. It's very difficult to piece together your shared thoughts over time to get a complete picture of who you are or what you think.

And, of course, privacy continues to be a major issue affecting all social networks.

Egowall tackles each of these concerns.

Why Egowall Is Different

In Egowall, our unique living spaces let you establish a place - a virtual 3D site - that your friends, family and colleagues can visit to:

  • catch up on your activities
  • review your personal and professional accomplishments
  • learn about the things that interest you and
  • communicate with you

Decorate your space with furniture, home decor items, and even playable games to make a statement about your personal style. You can even change the look of each room with paint colors and textures.

You're not limited to the ones we provide - using our construction tools, you can create your own fully custom space and surrounding environment.

Import personal photosinto the space and display them to tell your personal story - like that time you got tickets to the Super Bowl or when you graduated summa cum laude from college or when you got that big promotion at work.

Visitors don't need to worry about missing something that you have shared, because it is always available in the space for them to see.

And most importantly, each room's privacy can be configured to ensure that the only people who get to see what you have shared are the ones that you want to see those items. You have total control.

By default, only Egowall members can come into your living spaces, but you have the option of making any of them public and visible to the world.

And of course, you can share your spaces with your social connections.

That's just the beginning; there's so much more that you can do in Egowall.

Become Part of the Egowall Community

In addressing the shortcomings of other social networks, Egowall has become a platform on which its users can showcase and share their lives and achievements in ways not possible anywhere else.

Whether you're a photographer assembling an online gallery in which to showcase your work, an architect designing a sports bar, or just someone sharing pictures from your latest vacation, Egowall is the right tool for you.

Check out our Featured Public Spaces to get more ideas about what you do with Egowall. Then sign up for a free account and start using it to Be The Real You™.

Getting Started With Egowall

Check out our Unity-based social networking platform to see what you can do with Egowall. Then sign up for a free account and start using it to be The Real You™.

If you have received the golden ticket (i.e., the email message that confirms your acceptance to the Egowall community), you might be wondering what to do next.

Start by clicking on the link in the confirmation email to complete the Egowall registration process.

After signing in, you will be presented with a splash page for new users, where the features and starting benefits are described. Note that all members start out with 500 Ego Points (the currency of Egowall).

The Egowall Buy Homes Page

Because your virtual home is the center of action for sharing your content, go next to the Buy Homes page to look at the available home types. Take advantage of the Preview button available for each home and decide which one you wish to purchase.

Then choose either the Buy Standard Home or the Buy Custom Home link. Buying a Custom Home allows you to customize a number of elements of the home (exterior, front facade, mailbox, floor mat style, interior, and kitchen).

After you have acquired a home, you should populate it with your memorabilia and accomplishments. In preparation for that, head over to the Photos page and use the Quick Upload links to load relevant photos from your computer or external storage device(s) into containers.

Now that you have a home along with photos and other digital records to place on its walls, you probably want to visit it and start decorating.

We'll discuss that topic in a future post.

How to Sign Up for Egowall

The Egowall Landing Page is currently open only to private beta testers, but we will be rolling out access opportunities over the weeks ahead to other interested folks.

To get your name on the notification list for access to Egowall, please visit our landing page and click on the Join Egowall button.

Then fill out the registration form and submit it. This will ensure that you later receive a formal invitation to complete the registration process. Please note that Egowall is restricted to users who are 13 years old and higher.

By taking these actions, you'll be one step closer to getting access to a new kind of social network (one where you can showcase your achievements and memorabilia - The Real You™) in a unique, three-dimensional space.
