Life Is About Using Your Whole Box Of Crayons

Some people like rooms with plain white or gray walls. Others prefer them to be more colorful so as to better exhibit their personality.

White Walls Don't Have to Be Dull

There are also people who prefer that every room be carpeted. Well, not in the kitchen or bathroom. Because that would just be wrong.

But some people wouldn't even consider having anything other than tile or hardwood on their floors.

Color Can Add Personality to a Room

How your house and the rooms within it look are a direct reflection of who you are and how you want others to see you when they visit your abode.

That's why we created Egowall - to allow you to do the same thing online that you are currently doing in real life.

And we have good news. You can fully personalize the look of your Egowall living spaces.

There are three customization options available:

  • painting walls and other surfaces,

  • changing a surface material, and

  • copying color and/or material from one spot to another.

You Deserve A Better Game Experience - And Now It's Here

Our primary goal in revising the Egowall interface was to create an improved game experience for our customers.

To accomplish this, it was immediately clear that we needed to eliminate the hybrid web/game user interface that had been part of Egowall's architecture since its beginnings.

Even though we had integrated some of the formerly web-exclusive functionality into the game over time, there were still important capabilities that were still only accessible from the website.

So we are proud to announce that in our latest release of Egowall the hybrid web/game UI is no more. You no longer have to leave the game for any reason.

The new user interface resulting from these changes is illustrated in the screen capture below.

In the paragraphs below, we identify and describe the functions available in each major section of the updated user interface.

Area a: General Management Functions

  • Account Settings - Edit your user profile; change your password and account privacy; manage credit cards (used to purchase additional Ego Points)

  • Dashboard - Manage connection requests; write notes and private messages; see who has visited your living spaces

  • Spaces - Manage all of your living spaces, including name and room edits; set room privacy; set spaces as default for quick entry upon login

  • People - Manage your connections; create circles; move connections between circles; visit connection profiles and spaces

Area b: Object Management Functions

  • Media - Import photos into media bins; manage photo detail information; place photos into spaces

  • Shop - Purchase furniture objects, including multimedia storage containers; purchase living spaces; purchase additional Ego Points

  • Inventory - Place owned furniture into a space; purchase additional instances of owned furniture

Area c: Social Management Functions

  • Search - Search for people or spaces by name

  • Share - Share the current space with other Egowall users among your circles

  • Compose - Write and place public notes and private messages to Egowall users

Area d: Object Manipulation Functions

  • Select - Select a placed object so that you can buy another instance, add another instance to the space, or return it to inventory

  • Paint - Change the color or material of selected areas in the current room

  • Frame - Change the frame associated with a placed photo

  • Move - Change the location of placed furniture and photo objects in the current room

  • Rotate - Change the position of placed furniture and photo objects in the current room

  • Scale - Resize furniture objects (XYZ axes) and photo objects (XY axes); not available for all furniture objects

  • Clone - Bring another instance of a furniture object into the current living space; if you do not already own it, you will be given the opportunity to purchase it

  • Rebox - Return furniture or photo objects back into inventory

In a series of upcoming blog posts, we will provide additional information - including instructions and screenshots - to further illustrate how these new functions work.

In the meantime, why not sign up for a free account and take Egowall for a test drive?

How To Help Your Friends Learn More About You

If you're anything like us, you have interests and accomplishments that you don't typically talk about in your posts on Facebook and/or other social networking services.

But what if these are things you're very proud of and want your friends, family and business associates to know about?

That's what Egowall is all about.

And our latest Egowall release makes it easier than ever to showcase them.

From a brand new logo (seen above at right) to a completely revamped user interface all the way to widespread performance improvements, we think you'll find a lot to like.

Let's take a closer look at what's new.

General

You no longer have to switch between the web and game modules of Egowall to get things done in Egowall. All functionality - including account management - is now integrated into the game itself.

Navigation Menu

The new Navigation Menu (seen on the left side of the image below) lets you quickly get to the tasks you need to accomplish.

The Navigation Menu includes the following functions:

New Egowall User Interface

  • People - organize your connections and the circles where they reside, and easily visit any of them at any time.

  • Manage your photos and other imported images in the Media section; store them in multimedia storage objects (i.e., containers) and place them into any living space.

  • Shop for additional living spaces and for any of our hundreds of 3D furniture assets.

  • Use the Inventory function to manage all previously purchased furniture objects; then add them to living spaces or return ones already placed back into storage.

More Than Just a Social NETWORK

How many social networks do you belong to? Probably more than one. Maybe many more.

Urban Gallery - One of sixteen available 3D living spaces

So when we invite you to join Egowall, we're not surprised that you would ask us "Why?"

The answer is that Egowall is different than other social networks.

It's really a social platform ... one where you can organize, showcase and share your personal and professional memories and achievements in a 3D virtual environment.

In addition, we believe that:

Egowall includes hundreds of colorful, high quality pieces of furniture and home decor

Egowall includes hundreds of colorful, high quality pieces of furniture and home decor

  1. Your social persona should include more than a jumble of updates, photos and comments that go unseen by most of your followers.

  2. There should be an online destination that your connections can visit at any time to learn about the things that make you unique - your interests, activities, possessions or anything else you choose

  3. That destination should be a safe and secure place where you can easily manage who can see the things that you choose to share - and who cannot.

Egowall is that place. And yes, we DO want you to join our community.
