Study The Past And Divine The Future - 2018 In Review

Welcome to 2019!

Urban Studio Living Space Beauty Shot

At the beginning of a new year, it’s common for businesses to take a look back at what their followers liked (and didn’t like) in social media posts shared during the year just ended.

In so doing, they can gain insight into what resonated - and didn’t - with their current and (hopefully future) customers, and use that analytical data to guide their future social media marketing efforts.

Well, we’re no different. The purpose of this post is to share our top 5 social media posts from 2018 for each of Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

What the results tell us is that video is popular (no surprise there) and there is still a lot of interest in our unique 3D living spaces, which is great.

In each table below, we list the posts in reverse order, include an excerpt from the post, and provide a link to the actual post so you can see it in its native habitat.

Take a look at where we’ve been, and follow us on the journey to where we’re going next. It’s going to be exciting.

Having passed the halfway point of the year, it's appropriate to self-assess our marketing efforts and see what images in our Instagram feed have resonated with our community.

In this post, we will identify and discuss the five Instagram posts that garnered the most engagement in the first half of 2018.

All of these images were originally shared between January 1, 2018 and June 30, 2018.

Links to the original posts are provided below.

Number 1: Urban Studio Living Space

The Urban Studio is one of sixteen living spaces available to Egowall users.

These four beauty shots illustrate the spaciousness and flexibility of the space. Nestled in an urban center, this space's open floor plan allows it to serve many purposes.

The Urban Studio space will serve you well if you want to showcase your interest in fine furniture, photography, or any work of digital art you may have imported into the game.

Number 2: Contemporary Furniture - Mixer

The Mixer is one of nearly 40 pieces of kitchen furniture and appliances you can decorate any living space.

Perhaps this post was popular because it made folks think about those long ago adventures baking cookies with their moms.

Or maybe they were really into baking right now and they wanted to make sure everyone knows how much it reflects who they really are.

Then again, it could have just been that it looks pretty cool. Because it does.

Number 3: Construction Collection

Egowall's furniture library features hundreds of pieces in multiple styles, any of which can be used to create a space that represents The Real You™.

But depending upon how creative you are feeling, on any given day that might not be enough.

Using our construction assets and building tools, you can assemble nearly anything that you can imagine within a space.

And if you're really feeling adventurous, you can even create whole new spaces.

Number 4: Landscaping Collection - Potted Plant - Yucca

Once you've decorated with furniture and photos, you might want to make the space a bit warmer or more inviting.

Nothing does that better - in real life or online - than plants and other greenery.

You'll find more than seventy (70) flowers and landscaping decorations available for enhancing your space(s).

Most are designed for use with the Empty Urban Lot and Outdoor Sandbox.

But if you want to bring them inside one of the prefabricated spaces, go crazy with it.

Number 5: Science Fiction Furniture Collection

We've never been reluctant about professing our love here for science fiction.

Commensurately, our scifi-themed furniture offerings (nearly 60 of them) are among our favorite items in our catalog.

The pieces illustrated at right and the rest of their brethren are specifically designed for use in these three living spaces:

  • Orbital Deck,

  • Space Crew Quarters, and

  • Space Captain's Quarters

But honestly, these pieces are so attractive, you can get away with placing them in any style of living space.

That's the first half of 2018 in the books ... on to the rest of the year.

We've been exploring some new tools for creating content to share on our Instagram feed in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for that.

Springtime Is The Right Time For Some Landscape Work

We've told you about Egowall's sixteen unique living spaces.

We've mentioned that two of them are completely open environments where you can build the living space of your dreams.

Fan Palm

We've talked about the many 3D furniture objects - along with your own photos - that you can use to decorate you space(s).

But one thing we haven't previously talked about in this space is the more than seventy (70) flowers and landscaping decorations you can use to further enhance the appearance of all the spaces.

Persian Shield

Now that spring has arrived in the Northern Hemisphere, it's time to think about the greenery outside and inside our respective homes and living spaces.

Most of the horticultural items available in Egowall are designed for use with our Empty Urban Lot and Outdoor Sandbox spaces.

But if you want to bring them inside one of the prefabricated spaces, who are we to say you can't? Knock yourself out!

The rest of them can be used either indoors or outdoors.

These decorations (some of which you can see on this page) fall into the following categories:

Potted Yucca Plant

  • Small Bushes (e.g., Aloe, Basil, Hydrangea, and Hibiscus)

  • Large Plants and Bushes (e.g., Italian Cypress, Hypericum, Banana)

  • Ground Cover (e.g., Wild Grass and Clover)

  • Palm Trees (e.g., Washingtonia Palm, Fan Palm and three variations of the Date Palm)

  • Trees (e.g., Red Fir and White Fir)

  • Water Plants (e.g., Lily Pads and Lily Pad Flowers)

  • Rocks and Boulders (various)

  • Planters (e.g., 3-Tier, Rectangular, and Square in both stone and concrete)

  • Potted Plants (e.g., Snake Plant, Elephant Ears, and Yucca)

  • Flowers in Vases (e.g., Roses, Lilies, and Poinsettias)

In addition to the images you see embedded above, we've been sharing a number of pictures from our Flowers and Landscaping Collection in our social feeds.

So if you haven't yet gotten a good look at the entire complement of them, please check them out in Instagram and Twitter. Or better yet, see them in action within Egowall itself.
